The Case of Minnie Turner
Successful yet unhappy businessman, father of Lina Harper
While a Harper in name, at least as far as the Harpers where concerned (rumor has it Jim’s great grandfather Andrew Harper had changed his last name from Scholz to avoid any German associations), Jim Harper has never spent more than a few days in Harpers Crossing in his life, it has never been his style. A man who grew up getting everything he wanted he lost the only thing is his life he wanted to keep, and that loss made him an unhappy man. Unable to bear the resemblance of his daughter to his murdered wife, he abandoned the child to foster care, as to never be reminded of his one failure in life.
